sing your song
Below, are a list of songs that remind me - and my friend, for that matter, who I confered these with - of Kairi, her ways, her personality, her story. If you have any suggestions, please use the

Right There Waiting
Delta Goodrem
When I think of Kairi, this is the first song that comes to mind. It's not that I establish it as her theme - actually, no songs for me really scream Kairi at me. This one, is very very close. It's about someone waiting for someone, hoping they'll be searching, right there for them. Hoping that.. they'll share their adventures with them, which is what Kairi basically says - 'if one goes, we all go'. I think the lyrics could explain this way better than I could, or else I'd be here forever, picking out little things from every line.
Keep Holding On
Avril Lavigne
When I first heard this song, the first thing in my head was - Kingdom Hearts. When I listened to it again, the second thing was.. Kingdom Hearts. Heh. But if you look at the lyrics, it matches. For me, this song also reflects what's going on in Kairi's mind. She wants to help fight, defend, and make a differance, rather than just be a tag-along. It also seems to relate on how the days before the disaster happened - to cherish those moments, because, one day, they will return.
I Really Miss You
S Club 7
This is another one which I think is close. To me, it reminds me of the time Kairi spends by herself on Destiny Islands, when she's starting to remember Sora's name, but just isn't quite there. Even so, through all that, she misses him greatly. It's as the song says - 'the memory dies as the sun leaves the skies'. That, in this case, is rather true. The song background kind of reminds me of the sea, or spending time on the beach, as well.
Who Knew
Pink
This is the more.. the fact Kairi chooses to believe Sora and Riku are still out there. The fact no one remembers Sora, except herself, and that she punches out all doubt that he won't come back. He did say forever to her - that'd he would come back to her with Riku. She believed in everything he said.. and at the time, she didn't count her blessings, and wasn't the best at being herself, either, always nervous. I think this is another one of those songs close to being her theme, but not quite there.
Arigatou
Card Captor Sakura: The Sealed Card
I recently read through the English translation of this song, since I thought that it might possibly fit. And boy, was I
right! It really fits Kairi, to a certain degree. The song is someone singing thanks to her friends, and the subjects, relate a lot to Kairi. Such as, to keep smiling, and these memories won't fade. That they will indeeed meet again. Which, is what Kairi believes during the ending of Kingdom Hearts and the start of Kingdom Hearts 2. And, I guess, she does want to thank everyone for helping her, when they all come back, for however long it may be.
Our Song
Chihiro Onitsuka
This song is.. one of those few songs I think relates to Kairi all the way through both games. When I listen to it, it's as if she starts off imature, but then gradually gets more and more mature. Her heart is filled with light, and she is someone who is happy that Sora will stay with her, the fact he is back with her again. As if it's a makeup for past mistakes. Either way, go view the lyrics.
I'll Stand By You
Girls Aloud
Another one of those 'I won't forget you whatever happens' songs. Probably more or so Riku, to a point; even when she finds out about him being Ansem, she stands by him. She won't desert you, even in his darkest hours. And again, for Sora, when he becomes a heartless - she doesn't give up on him. She stands by him, protects him, and everything turns out ok.
Slipped Away
Avril Lavigne
Hey look, another Avril song! Heh heh. This one, I generally relate most to Namine, but it also relates to every character in KH2, if you think about it. Anyway, this song relates to Kairi since when Sora leaves her, she can't bring him back. She tries so hard, to actually get to him, but fails, drawing the conclusion it's not possible for her, that 'Sora's in danger because of me'. And as if, she wants to go back and do it over, to tell him all the things she wanted to tell him in the moments before they were seperated both times.
I Love You Always Forever
Donna Lewis
This one is fifty-fifty - parts of it fit perfectly, others are mostly of debatable quality. I really can't decide on it, but I'm putting it up anyway, since it's valid enough. The fact, Kairi will always love her beloved forever, the fact that it feels like heaven when she's with him to a certain degree. Eh, any more reasons, please put forward some suggestions, ok? Thanks.
