Sora is a normal fourteen year old boy, living on an island of solitude with his friends Riku and Kairi. That is, until a storm ravanges the islands, and plagues them into the darkness, making the world vanish from existance. Sora finds Riku - who has, chosen the darkness. In the seconds he reaches out to Riku, he obtains the keyblade. Sora finds Kairi - who is standing in front of the door, by herself, her heart then stolen by the heartless, as she vanishes before his eyes. Sora awakens in Traverse Town, a place for refuges whos worlds have been destroyed, and encounters Donald and Goofy there. From then on, he travels among alternate disney-worlds to seal the keyholes there, protecting them from the heartless, and to rescue his childhood friend, Kairi.As his adventures draw to a close, he encounters Kairi again; still an empty shell, none the less. He fights Riku, who is overtaken by the darkness, and is now 'Ansem' (or in truth, Xenahort's Heartless). Sora gives his life to bring Kairi back; and Riku, pulls up a stand against Ansem to protect his friends. Sora is reborn when Kairi calls out to him, and then fights Ansem in the end of the world. He closes the door to the dark; but, in doing so, he locks Riku there.
As he grieves the loss of Riku, Kairi appears as Destiny Islands are reformed. He promises his return; and his adventures begin again. As he travels to start for a clue, he sees Pluto; carrying a message from the King. He, Donald and Goofy chase after Pluto - what happens next? Well, that is 'drawn' in Chain of Memories...
